What is Fluency? What does it look like?

2C's Photocards

We have spent the last 3 weeks learning about the rainforest habitat, specifically animals and their babies.  Students read a non-fiction book titled Rainforest Babies to collect information and build upon their background knowledge.

Then grade 2 students selected and animal of choice and started to conducted independent research using the IT Lab. They really enjoyed learning interesting and new facts about their selected animal.

Following their research each student completed a piece of expository writing highlighting what they had learned. Finally, they transformed their writing into a postcard to someone of their choice. The postcards were created using iPads in our classroom.  Students learned how to search Google for images that gave reuse usage rights and imported them into PhotoCard!
